But these work fine and provide a very stabile and trouble free wireless solution for my house. If you have true gig speed internet from a wired connection I would maybe look at a newer router because of speeds. I have a wired connection of roughly 300-400 mbps, so these wireless routers and range extenders, although a bit older do not hinder speed. You can also monitor who is connected to your network from your iphone with the airport utility app downloaded. Was able to extend the network in my house wirelessly within literally 5 minutes of plugging it in and utilizing apple's airport utility on my mac. If you are using an apple time capsule as your wireless router base station these work perfectly to extend the wifi range either wirelessly or via wired connection. I'm still watching with baited breath to make sure the problem doesn't rear it's head again, but for the time being it seems to have been fixed.Algeria, Angola, Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Aruba, Asia, Australia, Bahamas, Bahrain, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bolivia, Botswana, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Cape Verde Islands, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Côte d'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Democratic Republic of the Congo, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Europe, Fiji, Gabon Republic, Gambia, Ghana, Greenland, Grenada, Guatemala, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Indonesia, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Kiribati, Kuwait, Laos, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mexico, Montserrat, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Oman, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Saint Helena, Saint Kitts-Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa, Suriname, Swaziland, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Togo, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Turkey, Turks and Caicos Islands, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United States, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Wallis and Futuna, Western Samoa, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe Basically from your Airport Utility app, tap Edit > Advanced > IPv6 and then disable Share IPv6 Connection button to disable IPv6 sharing. Steven Sande at Appleworld.today gave the easiest instructions on how to solve this problem. It came down the Airport Extreme confusing IPv6 and IPv4 messages. I finally found someone who was having the same problem AND had a solution (there were lots of reports of this problem with no solution). It would act like it couldn't find the Apple TV and then all of a sudden it would start working again. It would play for a minute or two before losing connection and I'd have to start the process all over. But at some point through a software update of my Airport Extreme, Apple TV, Macbook, or iPhone, AirPlay has been spotty at best and frustrated me to screaming bouts with my devices.įor months I'd been having issues playing music from my computer through my Apple TV. To be able to simply send music from my Macbook or iPhone to my stereo has been the Holy Grail of music playback since I ripped my first CD to MP3s.
